• They first met on the sets of 'Kuruvikoodu' (1980). Sivakumar was already a star. Saritha was a newcomer. Director R. Selvaraj paired them because he wanted a fresh face opposite Sivakumar — and Saritha's audition blew him away.
• In 'Agni Sakshi' (1982), Sivakumar deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery to match Saritha's natural rhythm. She later said that made her feel like an equal on set, not a junior artist.
• During the shoot of 'Vandichakkaram' (1980), Saritha would bring homemade snacks for the crew. Sivakumar, a strict vegetarian, would only eat from her tiffin — he trusted her cooking more than the caterer's.
• Saritha once told a magazine: 'Sivakumar sir never treated me like a co-star. He treated me like a daughter. On the sets of 'Aani Ver' (1981), he would correct my posture before every shot — not to show off, but to make me look good.'

• In 'Saattai Illatha Pambaram' (1983), Saritha improvised a crying scene mid-shot. Sivakumar, who was supposed to console her in the script, went silent and just held her hand. The director kept the take — it became the film's most talked-about moment.
