Thyagam is a 1978 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by K. Vijayan. It stars Sivaji Ganesan and Lakshmi in lead roles. The story follows Raja, a wealthy man who is falsely accused of rape and murder by his accountant, Ramasamy. After years in prison, Raja returns to his village as a broken man. He struggles to clear his name and win back his love, Radha. The film is a remake of the 1974 Bengali film Amanush. It was produced by K. Balaji under Sujatha Cine Arts. The music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja. Thyagam was released on 4 March 1978 and became one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of the year.
