Dheerga Sumangali(1974)
Dheerga Sumangali is a 1974 Indian Tamil-language drama film co-written and directed by A. C. Tirulokchandar. The film stars K. R. Vijaya as Lakshmi and Muthuraman as Sundaram, with Major Sundarrajan, V. K. Ramasamy, and Sivakumar in supporting roles. The story follows Lakshmi, a devoted wife and mother, who struggles to keep her family together after her strict husband's rules drive their sons away from home. The film was produced by N. S. Rajendran under Visalakshi Combines. K. R. Vijaya received the Filmfare Special Commendation Award for Performance for her role. The soundtrack, composed by M. S. Viswanathan, features the hit song 'Malligai En Mannan' which launched singer Vani Jairam's career. The film was released on 12 April 1974 and was remade in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.

Storyline
Lakshmi is a loving mother and wife who tries to keep peace in her strict household. Her husband Sundaram's rigid rules push their two sons to leave home. Lakshmi must hold her family together while her sons struggle in the outside world and her husband refuses to change.
