'Pattikada Pattanama' is a 1972 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by P. Madhavan. It stars Sivaji Ganesan as Mookaiyan and Jayalalithaa as Kalpana. The story follows a traditional villager who marries a modern city woman, leading to cultural clashes. Based on Shakespeare's 'The Taming of the Shrew', the film explores marriage, pride, and compromise. It was a major commercial success, running for over 175 days in theatres. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil and two Filmfare Awards South. It is the only black and white Tamil film to cross ₹1 crore in box office collections. The soundtrack, composed by M. S. Viswanathan, remains popular. The film was released on 6 May 1972.

Storyline
Mookaiyan is a proud villager who values tradition. Kalpana is a modern woman who loves city life. They marry, but their different worlds clash. After a violent fight, Kalpana leaves him. When she gives birth to his child, Mookaiyan takes the baby. Kalpana must decide if she can change to save her family.
