Praptham(1971)
'Praptham' is a 1971 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed and produced by Savitri. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan as Kannan and Savitri as Radha, with S. V. Ranga Rao, M. N. Nambiar, and Nagesh in supporting roles. It is a remake of the 1964 Telugu film 'Mooga Manasulu'. The story follows a poor fisherman and a wealthy woman who marry against her father's wishes, only to be separated by a tragic accident. The film explores themes of class, sacrifice, and fate. It was released on 14 April 1971, on the Tamil New Year's day, and was a box-office bomb. The failure of this film caused a major setback in Savitri's career. Despite this, M. S. Viswanathan won the Chennai Film Fans' Association Award for Best Music Composer for his work on the soundtrack.

Storyline
A poor fisherman named Kannan marries Radha, the daughter of a wealthy landowner. After a tragic accident at sea, Kannan is presumed dead. Years later, he returns to find Radha about to marry another man for the sake of their son. Kannan must decide between reclaiming his family or sacrificing his happiness for their future.
