Harichandra(1968)
Harichandra is a 1968 Indian Tamil-language Hindu mythological film directed by K. S. Prakash Rao. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan as the truthful king Harichandra and G. Varalakshmi as his wife Chandramathi. The story follows the king of Ayodhya who loses his kingdom, family, and freedom after a sage tests his honesty. The film features a supporting cast including T. S. Balaiah, M. N. Nambiar, and K. A. Thangavelu. Music was composed by K. V. Mahadevan with lyrics by Thanjai N. Ramaiah Dass. The film was released on 11 April 1968 and is considered a classic of Tamil mythological cinema.

Storyline
King Harichandra of Ayodhya has never told a lie. When the sage Viswamithran challenges him to prove his honesty, Harichandra gives away his entire kingdom. He then sells his wife, his son, and finally himself into slavery. Despite losing everything, he refuses to break his word. His faith and truth are tested to the breaking point.
