Panama Pasama(1968)
'Panama Pasama' is a 1968 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed and written by K. S. Gopalakrishnan. The film stars Gemini Ganesan and B. Saroja Devi in lead roles, with Nagesh, T. K. Bhagavathi, and Vijaya Nirmala in supporting parts. The story follows Shankar, a young man forced to choose between his love for Shanthi and his family's financial survival when a wealthy man offers to clear their debts in exchange for Shankar marrying his daughter. The film explores themes of greed, sacrifice, and the value of affection over material wealth. It was released on 23 February 1968 and became Gopalakrishnan's biggest commercial success, running for over 140 days in theatres. The Hindi remake 'Paisa Ya Pyaar' was released the following year.

Storyline
Shankar loves Shanthi and wants to marry her. But his father falls into heavy debt. A rich man named Nagalingam offers to pay the debt. His condition: Shankar must marry Nagalingam's daughter Kannamma. Shankar must choose between love and money.
