
Pudhiya Boomi(1968)
'Pudhiya Boomi' (1968) is a Tamil-language action drama directed by Tapi Chanakya. The film stars M. G. Ramachandran as Katheeravan, a heart surgeon, and Jayalalithaa as Kannamma, a village woman. The story follows Katheeravan who saves a dacoit's life and later becomes his target. After a car accident, he finds refuge in a village terrorized by the same criminal. He organizes the villagers to fight back and protect their home. The film is a remake of the Hindi film 'Himalay Ki God Mein' (1965). It features music by M. S. Viswanathan with lyrics by Kannadasan and Poovai Senguttavan. The supporting cast includes M. N. Nambiar, Nagesh, and Pandari Bai. The film was released on 27 June 1968. It received a negative review from Kalki magazine for lacking originality.

Storyline
A famous heart surgeon saves the life of a ruthless dacoit. The dacoit then tries to kill him when he learns the doctor is the son of a police officer. After a car crash, the doctor finds love in a peaceful village. But the dacoit's terror follows him there.
