Major Chandrakanth is a 1966 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by K. Balachander. It stars Major Sundarrajan, Nagesh, R. Muthuraman, A. V. M. Rajan, and Jayalalithaa. The story follows a blind retired major who unknowingly shelters a fugitive who killed his own son. The film explores themes of honor, duty, and justice. It was produced by A. V. Meiyappan under AVM Productions. The film was a commercial success and won two Chennai Film Fans' Association Awards. It released on 11 November 1966 during Diwali.

Storyline
A poor tailor named Mohan kills the man who ruined his sister's life. He becomes a fugitive and hides in the home of a blind retired major. The major does not know that the victim was his own son. The story builds to a painful choice between family loyalty and the law.
