'Kairasi' (transl. Auspicious hands) is a 1960 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by K. Shankar and produced by N. Vasudeva Menon under Vasu Films. The film stars Gemini Ganesan (credited as Ganesh) and B. Saroja Devi in lead roles, with K. A. Thangavelu, M. R. Radha, and S. V. Sahasranamam in supporting roles. The story follows Mohan, a doctor who discovers that his adoptive father is not his real father, and that his biological father Sundaram is a wrongfully convicted constable in prison. Mohan sets out to prove his father's innocence and expose the real criminal. The film features music composed by R. Govardhanam with lyrics by Kannadasan, and was noted for its limpid melodies. It was released on 19 October 1960, coinciding with the Diwali festival, and became a commercial success despite competition from other major releases. The film was later remade in Hindi as 'Jhoola' (1962).
