Joshilaay(1989)
Joshilaay is a 1989 Indian Hindi-language action-adventure film directed by Sibte Hassan Rizvi and Shekhar Kapur (uncredited). The lead cast includes Sunny Deol, Anil Kapoor, and Sridevi. The story follows two brothers, Dara and Karan, who seek revenge on the dacoit Jogi Thakur for murdering their fathers. Set in the dusty landscapes of Ladakh, the film blends Bollywood melodrama with the visual style of American westerns. The film is notable for Rajesh Vivek's menacing performance as Jogi Thakur, often compared to Amjad Khan's Gabbar Singh. Despite its cult following, Joshilaay was a box office failure and has never been properly restored, leaving existing prints in poor condition. The film was released in 1989 with a runtime of 107 minutes.
