• They first met on the set of Dacait (1987), but Sunny Deol almost didn't sign the film. He was hesitant about the dark, violent role until Meenakshi personally convinced him to take it, telling him it would be a 'game-changer' for his image.
• In Ghayal (1990), Meenakshi's character was the emotional anchor — she deliberately underplayed her scenes so Sunny's explosive anger would hit harder. She later said she 'fed his rage' by staying quiet in every confrontation.
