Ghazi (also known as The Ghazi Attack) is a 2017 Indian war film directed by Sankalp Reddy. It was produced simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi languages. The film stars Rana Daggubati, Kay Kay Menon, Atul Kulkarni, and Taapsee Pannu. It is inspired by the sinking of PNS Ghazi during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. The story follows the crew of the Indian submarine INS Karanj (S21) as they engage the Pakistani submarine PNS Ghazi off the coast of Visakhapatnam. The film depicts the crew remaining underwater for 18 days in a tense cat-and-mouse battle. It is notable as India's first submarine war film. The film received critical acclaim and won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu. It was released theatrically on 17 February 2017 and grossed over ₹62 crore worldwide against a budget of ₹15 crore.

Storyline

In 1971, the Indian Navy learns that Pakistan's most powerful submarine, PNS Ghazi, plans to destroy India's only aircraft carrier. The Navy sends submarine S21 to stop it. Captain Ran Vijay Singh wants to attack first, but Lieutenant Commander Arjun Varma has orders to avoid war. When a mine cripples S21 and kills the captain, Arjun must lead his crew through impossible odds to survive and defeat Ghazi.
