Engal Aasan(2009)
'Engal Aasan' (2009) is a Tamil-language action comedy-drama film directed by R. K. Kalaimani. The film stars Vijayakanth in the lead role, with Vikranth, Sheryl Brindo, Akshaya, and Suja Varunee in supporting roles. The story follows Mahendran, a bank officer transferred to a village branch to investigate a 250 million rupee loan fraud committed by a local big shot. The film blends action sequences with comedic moments and a social message about rural corruption. Vijayakanth's role was originally planned as a cameo but was expanded to a full-length character. The music was composed by Sabesh–Murali. The film was released on 17 July 2009 and was a commercial failure.

Storyline
An honest bank officer named Mahendran is transferred to a village to investigate a massive loan fraud. A powerful local criminal has stolen 250 million rupees using the names of poor villagers. When Mahendran tries to arrest him, the bank is burned down and he loses his job. Now he must clear his name and bring the real criminals to justice.
