Trivia
- The film's title is a nod to the 1979 Tamil romantic film of the same name, but the stories are completely different.
- Director Kumaravelan said the story was inspired by real-life incidents of unresolved mysteries among friend circles.
- The movie was shot in just 40 days, mostly in and around Chennai and a few hill station locations.
- Actor Prasanna, who plays Shiva, had to wear special makeup for hours to show the strangle marks on his neck.
- The film's original soundtrack was composed by newcomer Joshua Sridhar, but only one song was used in the final cut.
- It was one of the early major film roles for actress Priyamani after her National Award win for 'Paruthiveeran'.
- Despite being a thriller, the movie includes a flashback song sequence that was filmed at a real college festival.
