Trivia
- The film was originally titled 'Unakkum Enakkum' but was renamed to 'Something Something... Unakkum Enakkum' to match the title of a popular song from the movie.
- This was the first time actor Prabhu and director Mohan Raja collaborated, though Raja had previously worked with Prabhu's brother, actor Karthik.
- Actress Richa Pallod, who played Lalitha, came out of a five-year acting hiatus to appear in this film.
- The movie's soundtrack, composed by Devi Sri Prasad, became a major hit, with the song 'Something Something' particularly popular in wedding celebrations.
- A key emotional scene where Trisha's character leaves home was partly inspired by similar moments in earlier Tamil family dramas.
- The film was shot in a relatively short schedule, with many scenes filmed in real houses and streets in Chennai to keep costs low.
- Despite being a romance-drama, the film included a few action sequences to cater to the commercial tastes of the mid-2000s Tamil audience.
