• For Suyamvaram (1999), Prabhu was the one who insisted on casting Bhagyaraj as the hero. The producers wanted a younger face, but Prabhu told them Bhagyaraj's comic timing was the only thing that could save the film's messy script.
• On the sets of Unakkum Enakkum (2006), Bhagyaraj would rewrite his own lines on the spot to match Prabhu's deadpan delivery. Prabhu never complained — he just waited for the new dialogue and delivered it without a rehearsal. That's how the entire second half was shot.
• Between Suyamvaram and Unakkum Enakkum, they didn't speak for nearly five years. A misunderstanding over a missed call during a family function. Bhagyaraj finally broke the silence by showing up at Prabhu's house with a box of his favourite sweets. No apology, just sweets.
• Mupparimanam (2017) was the only film where Bhagyaraj wrote the script specifically for Prabhu's age and screen persona. It directly inspired a wave of 'senior citizen romance' films in Tamil — including the 2019 hit Kanne Kalaimaane, which borrowed the same emotional beat of a widower finding love again.
• Bhagyaraj once said in a 2017 interview: 'Prabhu is the only actor who can make my worst joke land. He doesn't laugh at it — he just looks at the camera like he's thinking about his bank balance. That's comedy gold.'
