Trivia

  • The film's title 'Jore' is a Tamil slang word meaning 'strength' or 'force', reflecting the movie's themes of conflict and power.
  • This was one of the few early 2000s Tamil films where actor Sathyaraj played a supportive father figure rather than a typical antagonist or hero.
  • Director Selva initially wanted a different actor for the villain role but cast Kota Srinivasa Rao after being impressed by his work in Telugu films.
  • The college election sequence was filmed at a real engineering college in Chennai to add authenticity to the campus setting.
  • A subplot involving a comic sidekick was reportedly edited down significantly before the film's final release to tighten the narrative.
  • The movie's soundtrack by Vidyasagar included a remix of an old folk tune, which became popular in local dance clubs at the time.
  • Despite the violent storyline, the film carried a U certificate from the Indian censor board, surprising some critics and audiences.
