• Sathyaraj handpicked his own son Sibiraj to play his younger brother in Jore (2004). It was Sibiraj's debut — and the first time a real-life father-son duo played siblings on screen in Tamil cinema.
• In Kovai Brothers (2006), Sathyaraj deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery to match Sibiraj's raw, untrained rhythm. He told the director he wanted the audience to see two brothers who actually sounded like they grew up together — not a veteran showing off.
• On the sets of Mannin Maindhan (2005), Sathyaraj would rehearse scenes with Sibiraj in their hotel room every night. He refused to let anyone else coach his son — said it was his job to teach him how to hold frame.
• Jackson Durai (2016) was the only time they swapped roles — Sathyaraj played the comic sidekick while Sibiraj took the lead. It bombed, but it directly inspired the father-son role reversal in the 2023 web series 'Thalaivettiyaan Paalayam'.
• Sibiraj once said in a 2017 interview: 'Appa never let me call him 'sir' on set. He said, 'You call me 'anna' in the film, so call me 'anna' off it too. We are equals here.'
• In Vetrivel Sakthivel (2005), Sathyaraj insisted on shooting their fight scene in one continuous take. He told the stunt choreographer that real brothers don't pause mid-fight to check marks — they just swing. Sibiraj ended up with a bruised rib, but the scene made the final cut exactly as shot.
