Trivia

  • The film was originally titled 'Karna' after the mythological character from the Mahabharata, reflecting the hero's abandoned-child theme.
  • Director Selva made his debut with this film, which was produced by his father, veteran actor R. S. Manohar.
  • Actor Vijayakanth, who played the dual role, performed his own stunts in the action sequences despite one character being physically disabled.
  • The movie's soundtrack by Deva was a commercial success, with the song 'En Veettu Thottathil' becoming a major hit.
  • This was one of the few 1990s Tamil films to prominently feature a protagonist with a physical disability as a central plot point.
  • The climax court scene was shot in a single schedule at a real courtroom to maintain authenticity.
  • Actress Roja, who played Amudha, was reportedly cast after the director saw her performance in another emotional drama.
