Marupakkam(1991)
Marupakkam (The Other Side) is a 1991 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by K. S. Sethumadhavan. It stars Sivakumar, Radha, and Jayabharathi. The story follows Ambi, who returns to his orthodox Brahmin father Vembu Iyer after the father suffers a stroke. The narrative shifts between the present and the past, revealing Vembu's guilt over divorcing his first wife Avayam after falsely accusing her in court. The film was produced by the National Film Development Corporation of India and Doordarshan on a budget of ₹12 lakh. It won three National Film Awards, including the Golden Lotus for Best Feature Film, making it the first Tamil film to achieve that honor. The movie was released theatrically on 6 March 1992.

Storyline
Ambi rushes to his father Vembu Iyer's bedside after the old man suffers a stroke. Vembu cannot speak, but his fingers tap a dance rhythm. Ambi learns his father is longing to see Avayam, the first wife he wronged years ago. Can the family find a way to bring them together before it is too late?
