'Malini 22 Palayamkottai' is a 2014 Indian Tamil-language thriller film directed by Sripriya. The film stars Nithya Menen in the title role, with Krish J. Sathaar and Naresh in supporting roles. It is a remake of the Malayalam film '22 Female Kottayam' (2012). The story follows a nursing student from Palayamkottai who dreams of moving to Canada. Her life unravels after she is raped by her boyfriend's boss and betrayed by her lover. The film was simultaneously shot in Telugu as 'Ghatana', which released two years later. Music was composed by the duo Aravind–Shankar. Critical reception was largely negative, with reviewers criticizing the performances and direction compared to the original. The film was released on 24 January 2014.

Storyline
