• Sripriya handpicked Kovai Sarala for 'Pongi Varum Kaveri' (1989) after seeing her in a stage play. Sarala was a relative newcomer then, and Sripriya insisted the director cast her as the comic sidekick.
• In 'Malini 22 Vijayawada' (2013), Sripriya played the straight-laced mother while Kovai Sarala played the loud, chaotic aunt. Sarala improvised most of her lines on set, and Sripriya would deliberately pause her reactions to let Sarala's punchlines land harder.
• During the shoot of 'Malini 22 Palayamkottai' (2014), Sripriya and Kovai Sarala shared a vanity van. Sarala would make Sripriya laugh between takes by doing impressions of the director. Sripriya later said those were the only thing that got her through that film.
• Kovai Sarala once said in an interview: 'Sripriya akka is the only co-star who never once complained about my loud voice. She told me, "Your voice is your weapon. Use it."'
• The success of 'Malini 22 Vijayawada' (2013) directly led to the spin-off 'Malini 22 Palayamkottai' (2014). That sequel bombed so badly that no producer has greenlit a third 'Malini' film since.
• In 'Ghatana' (2016), the two actresses played sisters-in-law who hate each other. Sripriya deliberately underplayed her scenes to make Sarala's over-the-top anger look funnier. The director later admitted he just let them figure out the rhythm themselves.
