Trivia

  • The film is a remake of the 1981 classic of the same name starring Rajinikanth, but with a modern setting and a different lead actor.
  • Director Badri is also a popular dialogue writer; he wrote the sharp, witty lines for the original 'Thillu Mullu' as well.
  • Actor Shiva, known for his comic roles, played the dual role, marking a shift from his usual single-hero characters in comedies.
  • The movie features a cameo by veteran actor Delhi Ganesh, who also appeared in a small role in the original 1981 version.
  • The soundtrack was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, continuing his frequent collaborations with actor Shiva during that period.
  • Despite being a comedy, the film subtly references the pressure of unemployment, a common theme in early 2010s Tamil cinema.
  • The climax scene where the lie unravels was shot in a single large set to maintain the chaotic, farcical energy of the situation.
