Trivia

  • The film's title was originally 'Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 2' but was changed to 'Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns' to emphasize it as a direct sequel.
  • Director Tigmanshu Dhulia cast Jimmy Sheirgill, who played a different character in the first film, as the new gangster Indarjeet Singh.
  • The character of Madhavi Devi, played by Mahie Gill, was inspired by the archetype of the 'drunkard queen' seen in some Indian folklore and literature.
  • The movie was shot extensively in real palaces and havelis in Rajasthan to maintain the authentic royal atmosphere.
  • Soha Ali Khan, who plays Ranjana, learned to ride a horse specifically for her role in the film.
  • The film's climax scene involving a chess game was a deliberate metaphor for the power struggles between the main characters.
  • Despite being a sequel, the movie performed better at the box office than the first 'Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster' film.
