- The character of Madhavi Devi, played by Mahie Gill, was inspired by the archetype of the 'drunkard queen' seen in some Indian folklore and literature.
- The movie was shot extensively in real palaces and havelis in Rajasthan to maintain the authentic royal atmosphere.
- Soha Ali Khan, who plays Ranjana, learned to ride a horse specifically for her role in the film.
