• Tigmanshu Dhulia cast Mahie and Jimmy together in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster (2011) because he wanted actors who could play 'royalty with rot' — people who looked like they belonged in a haveli but had dirt under their nails. He said they both had that 'thakur genes' look without trying.
• In Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns (2013), Jimmy and Mahie shot the iconic 'chandelier scene' in one take. Jimmy kept breaking character because Mahie would whisper filthy jokes in Bhojpuri between takes. The director kept the take where Jimmy's smirk is barely holding — that's the one in the film.
• Their pairing in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster (2011) directly revived the 'small-town noir' genre in Hindi cinema.
