Rowdy Rathore is a 2012 Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala under UTV Motion Pictures. The film stars Akshay Kumar in a dual role as a small-time thief and an honest police officer, alongside Sonakshi Sinha, Nassar, and Yashpal Sharma. Set in Mumbai and the fictional Bihar village of Devgarh, the story follows a conman who is forced to impersonate a slain cop to protect a village from a ruthless gangster. The film is a remake of the Telugu film Vikramarkudu and was noted for its high-octane action sequences, Akshay Kumar's comic timing, and the popular song 'Chinta Ta Ta'. Storyline
A small-time thief in Mumbai falls in love with a woman from a village. When he follows her home, he is mistaken for a brave police officer who looks exactly like him. After the real officer is killed, the thief must pretend to be the cop to protect the villagers and the officer's daughter from a cruel gangster.
