Rakta Charitra is a 2010 Indian biographical action thriller film directed by Ram Gopal Varma. The Hindi-language film features Vivek Oberoi, Sudeep, Shatrughan Sinha, Abhimanyu Singh, Radhika Apte, and Kota Srinivasa Rao. It is based on the life of Paritala Ravindra, a politician from Andhra Pradesh. The story follows Pratap Ravi, a college student who returns home after his father's murder and embarks on a violent path of revenge. The film depicts the brutal intersection of caste, politics, and personal vendetta in rural India. It received critical acclaim for its raw storytelling, direction, and performances, particularly Oberoi's. However, its extreme violence led to a commercial failure. Storyline
Pratap Ravi is a college student. His father, a kind leader, is murdered by powerful politicians. Pratap returns home and decides to take revenge. He kills everyone responsible. Then he enters politics to gain power. But the cycle of violence continues. New enemies appear. Pratap must fight to survive.
