• Vivek Oberoi was a total unknown when RGV cast him in Company. The director saw his audition tape and said yes on the spot — no screen test, no second round. That one call made Vivek a star overnight.
• On the sets of Company, RGV told Vivek to forget acting and just react. He wanted raw, unpredictable energy. Vivek’s nervousness became Chandu’s twitchy intensity — the director literally weaponized the actor’s inexperience.
• Company directly inspired Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur. Kashyap has said he watched Company obsessively and wanted to make a film that captured that same gritty, real-world gangster energy — but set in small-town UP.
