He carved a niche for himself by often portraying suave, stylish, and sometimes villainous characters, bringing a distinct screen presence to multi-starrer projects. His career trajectory began with modeling before transitioning to films, with his early notable appearance being in the 1999 action film 'International Khiladi', where he shared screen space with Akshay Kumar. This role helped establish him as a credible supporting player. Throughout the early 2000s, Bedi appeared in a variety of films across genres, including thrillers like 'Angaar: The Fire' (2002) and comedies such as 'Fun - Can Be Dangerous Sometimes' (2005). While many of these films were not major commercial successes, Bedi consistently delivered competent performances that contributed to the ensemble casts. His role in the Punjabi film 'Gajendra' (2004) also marked his work in regional cinema. After a period of reduced visibility in mainstream Hindi cinema, he returned to acting in the 2020s with projects like 'Ahimsa' (2023). Rajat Bedi's contribution lies in his ability to effectively fill character roles that required a certain sophistication and intensity, particularly in the action and thriller genres popular during his peak years. He represents a cohort of actors who provided crucial support in the star-driven framework of Bollywood, adding depth to narratives without necessarily being the central lead. His career reflects the diverse opportunities and challenges faced by character actors in the industry.
