• Pandiraj didn't want to cast Jayaprakash in 'Marina' (2012). He thought the actor looked too polished for a slum-set film. Jayaprakash showed up to the audition in torn clothes and barefoot — Pandiraj cast him on the spot.
• On 'Kathakali' (2016), Pandiraj realized Jayaprakash could switch between comedy and menace in a single take. He started writing scenes where the character's mood flips mid-sentence — something he never did with other actors.
• The success of 'Etharkkum Thunindhavan' (2022) directly led to Pandiraj greenlighting a spin-off character track for Jayaprakash's role. That spin-off is still in development — the only time Pandiraj has ever expanded a supporting character into its own project.
• Every time they wrapped a film, Pandiraj would hand Jayaprakash a handwritten note with one scene he thought the actor 'saved'. Jayaprakash has kept all four notes — he showed them at a 2023 fan meet.

• In 'Idhu Namma Aalu' (2016), Pandiraj deliberately gave Jayaprakash no dialogue for the first 20 minutes of his screen time. He wanted the actor to build the character purely through body language — Jayaprakash ended up improvising a limp that became the character's signature.
