- Director Pandiraj stated the story was inspired by real-life incidents of digital blackmail and cybercrime against women reported in Tamil Nadu.
- This was the first collaboration between actor Suriya and director Pandiraj, though Pandiraj had previously directed Suriya's brother Karthi in 'Kadaikutty Singam'.
- The film's climax and action sequences were shot extensively in and around the historic Meenakshi Amman Temple area in Madurai.
- Composer D. Imman reused and rearranged his own 2013 song 'Kannazhaga' from 'Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru' for a romantic scene in this film.
- Despite mixed reviews, the film had a strong opening at the box office, earning over ₹50 crore worldwide in its first weekend.
- Actress Priyanka Arul Mohan, who plays the female lead, had to learn specific Tamil dialect nuances for her role as a character from the Madurai region.
