• Kota Srinivasa Rao and Srinivasa Reddy first shared screen space in Namo Venkatesa (2010) because the director, Srinu Vaitla, specifically wanted a veteran actor to play the father figure opposite Venkatesh. Kota was the first choice, and Reddy was cast as the comic sidekick — the two had never worked together before, but their contrasting energies clicked instantly on set.
• In Okkadine (2013), Kota played the stern, disapproving father while Reddy was the loud, loyal friend. The trick was that Kota would deliberately slow down his dialogue delivery to force Reddy to match his rhythm — making Reddy’s comic timing tighter. Reddy later admitted in an interview that he learned to pause for effect just by watching Kota’s eyes during those scenes.
• Their only outright comedy-heavy pairing, Jadoogadu (2015), was the film that convinced producer K. S. Rama Rao to greenlight a separate comic caper starring both of them — but that project never materialized because the script wasn’t ready. • On the sets of Balakrishnudu (2017), Kota and Reddy shared a daily ritual: after pack-up, they would sit in Kota’s van and share a single cigarette while discussing the next day’s scenes. Reddy later said that Kota never let him smoke alone — it was their way of decompressing after long hours in makeup.
• Srinivasa Reddy once said about Kota: 'He doesn't act with you — he acts at you. In Okkadine, I had to fight to keep my laugh in because he’d throw a line so deadpan that I’d break character. That’s how I learned to stay in the scene.'
