• Appukutty was a last-minute replacement in 'Veeram' (2014). The original actor dropped out, and director Siva called Appukutty at 2 AM. He reached the set by 6 AM and shot his first scene opposite Thambi Ramaiah that same morning.
• In 'Mupparimanam' (2017), Thambi Ramaiah deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery during their shared scene. He told Appukutty off-camera: 'You take the rhythm. I'll follow you.' That scene became the only one audiences remember from the film.
• Their comic track in 'Vivegam' (2017) was so popular that Ajith Kumar personally requested the editor to extend their screen time by 4 minutes. That extended cut is the only version that exists in theatres and OTT.
• Thambi Ramaiah never called Appukutty by his name on set. He only addressed him as 'Thambi' (younger brother). Appukutty returned the respect by touching Thambi Ramaiah's feet before every single shot across all five films.
• Appukutty once said in a 2018 interview: 'Thambi Ramaiah sir taught me that comedy is not about making people laugh. It's about making them forget they are watching a film. I learned that in our first scene together in Mannaru.'
