• They first shared screen space in 'Pyaara Dushman' (1980), but neither was the lead. Amjad Khan played the villain, Kalpana Iyer played a supporting role. The film's real star was Mithun Chakraborty.
• In 'Hum Se Badkar Kaun' (1981), Amjad Khan played a double role — one a comic buffoon, the other a menacing gangster. Kalpana Iyer was the only actress in the film who got scenes with both versions, forcing her to switch her performance style mid-scene.
