• Javed Khan and Huma Khan first worked together in 'Raat Ke Andhere Mein' (1987) because the producer needed a quick replacement after the original lead actress walked out two days into shooting. Huma was recommended by a junior artist who had seen her in a Bhojpuri stage show.
• On the set of 'Paanch Fauladi' (1988), Javed would deliberately flub his lines in the first take to make Huma laugh and loosen up. She later admitted that his goofing around was the only reason she didn't quit acting after her first film flopped.
• During the shoot of 'Kafan' (1990), Javed and Huma shared a tiny room in a cheap Ooty lodge for three weeks because the producer ran out of budget. They cooked their own meals on a kerosene stove and never told anyone until a 2012 interview.
• Huma Khan once said in a 1992 Cine Blitz interview: 'Javed was the only co-star who never tried to impress me. He'd just say, "Chal, kar le scene, ghar jaana hai." That honesty made me trust him completely.'
• Their fourth and final film together, 'Khooni Raat' (1991), was the first Hindi horror movie to be dubbed into Tamil and Telugu simultaneously. The Tamil version ran for 25 weeks in Chennai, directly inspiring director R. Sarath to cast a real-life couple in his 1993 slasher 'Rathri'.
• After 'Khooni Raat' (1991) wrapped, Javed and Huma had a massive fight over a payment dispute with the distributor. They didn't speak for 14 years. They finally reconciled in 2005 at a mutual friend's wedding, but never worked together again.
