• They first shared screen space in Nakhuda (1981), a film where both were essentially bit players. Neither had a name role, but their one scene together — a tense exchange on a boat — caught the editor's eye and got extended in the final cut.
• In Kafan (1990), Mac Mohan played the silent, brooding foil to Javed Khan's loud, manic energy. Mohan later told a trade magazine that Khan would deliberately speed up his dialogue in rehearsals, forcing Mohan to react faster — a trick that gave their scenes a jittery, live-wire tension.
• During the shoot of Khooni Panja (1991), both actors shared a tiny dressing room in a rundown studio in Andheri. They reportedly played chess between takes — and Khan never won a single game. Mohan kept a scorecard taped to the mirror.
• Mac Mohan once said in a 1992 interview: 'Javed was the only actor who could make me laugh in the middle of a horror scene. We'd ruin takes because he'd whisper something absurd just before 'action'. I miss that.'
• Their third and final film together, Khooni Panja (1991), was one of the earliest Hindi slasher films to use a single-location setting. A young Ram Gopal Varma reportedly watched it in a theatre and later cited its claustrophobic framing as an influence on his own Raat (1992).
