• They first shared screen space in Shaan (1980) because Ramesh Sippy needed two strong female leads to match Amitabh Bachchan's double role. Rakhee was the established star, but Parveen was cast as the glamorous foil — and their contrasting styles (Rakhee's intensity vs Parveen's modern edge) became the film's secret weapon.
• In Dil... Akhir Dil Hai (1982), Rakhee played the suffering wife while Parveen played the bold other woman. Off-camera, Rakhee reportedly helped Parveen rehearse her emotional scenes — the younger actress later said Rakhee taught her how to cry on cue without glycerin.
• During the shoot of Taaqat (1982), Parveen Babi was already showing signs of the paranoia that would later consume her. Rakhee would sit with her between takes, holding her hand and calming her down. No one else on set knew how to handle Parveen's episodes — Rakhee just quietly did it.
