• Pandu was already a well-known comedian when he cast Roja Selvamani as the female lead in 'Asuran' (1995). He personally convinced her to take the role, marking her debut in a film where he was the hero — an unusual move for a comedian at the time.
• On the sets of 'Eazhaiyin Sirippil' (2000), Pandu would deliberately flub his lines to make Roja laugh, and she'd retaliate by improvising silly reactions. The director kept those takes because the natural laughter between them felt more real than scripted comedy.
