• Delhi Ganesh was already a respected character actor when he was cast opposite Jaishankar in 'Yaar' (1985). But the pairing almost didn't happen — Jaishankar insisted on a younger heroine. The director had to convince him that Ganesh's deadpan comic timing was exactly what the role needed.
• In 'Nee Pathi Naan Pathi' (1991), Jaishankar played the brooding, intense lead while Delhi Ganesh played the comic relief. But here's the trick — Ganesh deliberately slowed his delivery in every scene with Jaishankar. He said it made Jaishankar's anger land harder. Jaishankar later admitted that nobody else knew how to 'give him space' like Ganesh did.
• On the sets of 'Kaalamellam Kaathiruppen' (1997), the two would share a single cup of filter coffee every morning before shoot. Jaishankar would pour first, then Ganesh. It was a ritual they kept across all three films. No one else was allowed to touch that cup.
• The success of their odd-couple pairing in 'Yaar' (1985) directly inspired director K. S. Ravikumar to cast them again in 'Nee Pathi Naan Pathi' (1991). Ravikumar later said that watching them together taught him how to balance comedy and tension in a single scene — a technique he used in his later blockbusters like 'Muthu'.
