• For Enkeyo Ketta Kural (1982), Delhi Ganesh was already a busy character actor, but Ambika was the bigger star then. The director paired them specifically because Ambika requested a co-star who wouldn't overshadow her — she wanted someone who could hold his own without stealing the scene.
• In Velundu Vinaiyillai (1987), Delhi Ganesh deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery to match Ambika's natural rhythm. He later said he realized she reacted best when given space to breathe between lines — so he built pauses into their scenes that weren't in the script.
• After Velundu Vinaiyillai wrapped, Ambika gifted Delhi Ganesh a silver pen. He still uses it to sign contracts. She told him once: 'You write your lines with your voice, but this is for the ones you'll write yourself.'
• Jigarthanda (2014) brought them back together after 27 years. Director Karthik Subbaraj wrote the father-daughter scene specifically because he grew up watching their 80s films and wanted to recreate that exact tension — where the daughter talks back but the father's silence says more.
• Delhi Ganesh on Ambika, during Jigarthanda promotions: 'She was the only actress who never asked me to change my dialogue. She said, "You say it your way, I'll react my way." That's why our scenes felt like a real argument, not a performance.'
