• Revathi was the one who pushed for Thalaivasal Vijay to be cast in Thevar Magan (1992). She had worked with him before and told director Bharathan he'd bring the right weight to the role. Bharathan agreed after one look at his screen test.
• In Maayan (2001), Revathi and Thalaivasal Vijay had to shoot a tense confrontation scene in a single take because the location had no backup lighting. Vijay later said Revathi's calm eye contact kept him from flubbing his lines. The scene made it to the final cut exactly as shot.
• During the shoot of Gandhi Pirantha Mann (1995), Revathi and Thalaivasal Vijay would share a cup of filter coffee every morning before call time. They kept this ritual going for every film they did together after that, even when schedules were tight.

• In Ponniyin Selvan (2005), Revathi and Thalaivasal Vijay played a married couple with a strained relationship. Vijay deliberately underplayed his anger in every scene, letting Revathi's silence carry the emotion. The director later said that choice made their scenes the most talked-about in the film.
