• Prabhu Deva was already a dance superstar when he signed Thotti Gang (2002), but M. S. Narayana was a relatively niche comedian. The director E. V. V. Satyanarayana deliberately paired them because he wanted Prabhu Deva's mass appeal to introduce Narayana's brand of slapstick to a wider audience — and it worked.
• In Kalyana Ramudu (2003), Prabhu Deva would set up a physical gag — a stumble, a double-take — and then freeze, letting M. S. Narayana rush in with a rapid-fire punchline. Narayana later said in an interview that Prabhu Deva's timing was so precise he never had to adjust his own rhythm.
• During the shoot of Oka Radha Iddaru Krishnula Pelli (2003), M. S. Narayana would crack up Prabhu Deva between takes by mimicking his dance moves in exaggerated slow motion. Prabhu Deva reportedly couldn't keep a straight face for the next scene.
• The success of their comic timing in Thotti Gang (2002) directly led to director E. V. V. Satyanarayana casting them again in Kalyana Ramudu (2003) — and that film's comedy track became a template for several mid-2000s Telugu comedies where a straight-man hero bounced off a hyper-energetic sidekick.
• M. S. Narayana once told a Telugu magazine: 'Prabhu Deva is the only hero who never looked down on me for being a comedian. He would wait for my cues, not the other way around.'
