• Padmini was the bigger star when they first paired up for Punar Jenmam (1961). She personally recommended Rahini to the director after seeing her in a small role. That one recommendation launched their four-film run.
• In Raani Samyuktha (1962), Padmini played the fierce warrior queen while Rahini played the soft-hearted princess. The director said Padmini set the aggressive pace in every scene, and Rahini instinctively softened her own performance to match — that push-and-pull made their fight sequences look real.
• Their third film together, Senthamarai (1962), was the first Tamil movie to feature a female-led revenge plot where both heroines survive the climax. That ending directly inspired the 1970s 'woman on a rampage' trend in Tamil cinema.
• On the sets of Naan Vanangum Dheivam (1963), Padmini and Rahini shared a makeup room and would spend hours teaching each other classical dance moves between shots. Rahini later said Padmini taught her the exact footwork for a Bharatanatyam sequence that she used in her next solo film.
