• Anandaraj was already a feared villain when Rambha was cast opposite him in Janakiraman (1997). The director paired them specifically to shock audiences — a soft heroine next to a brute. It worked so well they made three more films in three years.
• In Desiya Geetham (1998), Rambha’s character was written as the emotional anchor who humanizes Anandaraj’s violent cop. She deliberately softened her dialogue delivery in their scenes together, forcing him to lower his voice too — a trick she later said she used to make him seem vulnerable on screen.
• During the shoot of Unnaruge Naan Irundhal (1999), Anandaraj would bring homemade snacks from his wife’s kitchen for Rambha every single day. She later revealed in an interview that he treated her like a younger sister, and they’d spend breaks discussing family, not films.
• Rambha once said in a 2000 interview: 'Anandaraj sir would get so into character that I’d actually be scared of him during the shot. But the moment the director said cut, he’d smile and ask if I wanted coffee. That contrast is why our scenes worked.'
• Their fourth and final film together, Anbudan (2000), was the last time Rambha played a full-length romantic lead opposite a much older hero in Tamil cinema. After this, she shifted to younger co-stars and item numbers — a career pivot that started right after this pairing ended.
