Partnership facts

• Giri and M. S. Narayana first shared screen space in 'Chandralekha' (1998) because the director needed a pair of comedians who could bounce off each other without stepping on the punchline. Narayana was already a known face; Giri was the wildcard the director took a chance on.
• In 'Kushi Kushiga' (2004), Giri would set up the joke with a straight face, then Narayana would deliver the twist with his signature stammer and timing. Giri later said Narayana taught him that comedy is about the pause, not the line.
• During the shoot of 'Appudappudu' (2003), Giri and Narayana shared a room in a small lodge near the set. Narayana would rehearse his lines aloud at 5 AM, and Giri would wake up and join him — they turned morning practice into a ritual for all four films.
