• Chinni Jayanth was a popular comedian when he signed Ennai Vittu Pogaathe (1988). But T. K. Bose, then a newcomer director, cast him as the lead hero — a risky move that paid off and launched Jayanth's dramatic career.
• On the set of Pongi Varum Kaveri (1989), Bose let Jayanth rewrite his own comedic lines. Jayanth's improvisations turned a routine scene into the film's most quoted moment — a village argument that audiences still mimic.
• Their third film Kavithai Paadum Alaigal (1990) was the first Tamil movie to feature a then-unknown singer named K. S. Chithra in a major playback role. Bose insisted on her after hearing her demo; Jayanth backed the choice.
• After Kavithai Paadum Alaigal flopped, Bose and Jayanth never spoke again. Jayanth later said in a 2015 interview that Bose blamed him for the film's failure — and the two never patched it up.
