• They first shared screen space in Jippaa Jimikki (2015), but neither was the director's first choice for their roles. The casting director pushed for both after the original actors backed out last minute.
• In Remo (2016), Naren played the strict father while Rajendran played the comic sidekick. They had no scenes together in the script — so they improvised a 3-minute hallway exchange on set. The director kept it in the final cut.
• During the shoot of Bairavaa (2017), Rajendran would wait for Naren after pack-up every single day. They'd share a cup of tea and discuss the next day's lines — even when they had no scenes together.
• Their double-act in Kadha Solla Porom (2016) — where Naren played a ghost and Rajendran a terrified villager — directly inspired the comedy track in the 2018 horror-comedy Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu. The writer admitted it in an interview.
• Rajendran once said in a 2017 behind-the-scenes video: 'Naren sir doesn't laugh at my jokes on set. He just stares. That stare makes me work harder. He's my toughest audience.'
• In Neruppuda (2017), Naren played a firefighter and Rajendran played his comic subordinate. Naren insisted on doing all the fire stunts himself — Rajendran refused to stand aside and did his own stunts too, even though his character wasn't supposed to be in the fire zone.
