Partnership facts

• Ajay and Naresh first shared screen space in Vaana (2008) because the director needed two friends who could bicker like real brothers. Neither had worked together before, and the casting was a gamble — both were relatively new faces then.
• In Sarileru Neekevvaru (2020), Ajay played the comic sidekick while Naresh played the straight-laced hero. Ajay’s improvisations on set forced Naresh to react in real time, giving their scenes a natural, unscripted rhythm that the director kept in the final cut.
• Their 2022 film Super Machi was originally planned as a direct OTT release, but the duo’s growing fanbase from Sridevi Soda Center (2021) pushed the producers to give it a limited theatrical run — a rare second chance for a small-budget comedy.
• During the shoot of Aadu Magaadra Bujji (2013), Ajay and Naresh shared a room in a budget lodge for three weeks because the production couldn’t afford separate stays. They still joke that the film’s low rating is because they were too sleep-deprived to act.
• Naresh once said in a 2021 interview: 'Ajay doesn't let me take myself seriously. Every time I try to act intense, he cracks a joke and ruins my shot — but that's exactly why our scenes work.'
