• Before Thunai (1982), neither Saritha nor Radha was a big name. Director S. A. Chandrasekhar paired them specifically because he wanted two fresh faces who could match each other's intensity — and both were nervous about carrying a film together.
• In Sigappu Suriyan (1983), Saritha and Radha played sisters with opposing loyalties. Radha later said in an interview that Saritha would deliberately slow down her dialogue delivery in emotional scenes so Radha could catch up and land her lines at the same beat — a trick no other co-star did for her.
• During the shoot of Simma Soppanam (1984), Saritha and Radha shared a room in a small lodge in Tenkasi. They would rehearse their scenes at night by candlelight because the power would cut off — and they became close enough that Radha called Saritha 'akka' even after the film wrapped.
• The success of Thunai (1982) directly led to director S. A. Chandrasekhar casting both of them again in Sigappu Suriyan — making them the first female pair in Tamil cinema to headline three films in a row without a male superstar lead.
